November 18 Chapter Lunch Meeting Open for Registration
The meeting will start at 11:30 at the Landmark Convention Center in Tacoma. This chapter meeting will be the third Wednesday, it has been moved from November 11 because of Veteran’s Day Holiday. We are excited to have a presentation by Melissa Saxe, Project Manager on the Sound Transit’s Tacoma Trestle Replacement Project at this meeting. For more information and to register go here.
It is that time to start thinking about those firms, organizations, agencies and individuals you believe have made significant contributions to the chapter and the right of way profession.
Nomination forms for “Professional of the Year”, “Employer of the Year” and “Instructor/Presenter of the Year” are now available below. Winners will be announced at the Officer Installation Dinner in June 2016.
“Project of the Year “nomination forms are also now available on our Chapter 4 website and must be submitted by December 19, 2015. Presentations for “Project of the Year” will be given in January 2016, with the winner to be announced at the general membership meeting in February 2016.
Please consider these opportunities to share your successes and be recognized by your peers for a job well done and to recognize others for their contributions to the chapter and right of way profession.
The 2016 course offerings have been posted. To see them go here.
New Member Opportunity
Do you know someone who should be a member of IRWA? Now is the time to get them involved! Starting at the September meeting, current non-members will have the chance to win a free membership for the first year. Here is how it works. Each time a non-member attends a monthly membership meeting, they will be able to add their name to a drawing. The more meetings they attend, the more times their name goes into the hat. Three names will be drawn at the December 2015 meeting. The three winners will have their membership dues for 2016 paid for by Chapter 4. As you can see, if a potential member attends the first four meetings, they increase their chances by having their name in the hat four times. This is a great opportunity, so please pass it along.
Opportunity is knocking. Volunteer today! There are numerous opportunities to help out Chapter 4. Not only will you get to meet and interact with more members, you might also get your 2017 annual dues paid for. Check out the sign up boards at the upcoming membership meetings and get involved!”
As for the 2017 prize, one volunteer will be nominated and selected by the board with the Volunteer of the Year Award presented at the June Installation and Awards Banquet. The Chapter will pay the 2017 membership dues for the Volunteer of the Year award winner.
As we near the end of summer, your executive board is gearing up for its yearly chapter planning session. At the installation dinner in June, I expressed my goals for this chapter and this Saturday the executive board, committee chairs, committee members and general membership will gather to discuss those plans, this year’s fiscal budget and any other suggested topics. Please join us at Roland Resources, Inc. for coffee and lunch Saturday morning from 9am to 1pm. You will get to hear first-hand the plans we have, program discussions, social event ideas, task force needs and you’ll have the opportunity to express your ideas for this coming year. There are openings on all committees for chapter volunteers and we’d love to see everyone participate. Please RSVP me if you plan on attending. Read more…
