Austin Bowlin, CPA 1031-1033 Exchanges and Right of Way Acquisitions

Overview
Considered to be one of the most generous sections of the Internal Revenue Code – Section 1033 allows for owners of investment real estate who are subject to condemnation or eminent domain (whether “imminent” or completed) to exchange their property into “like-kind” property and receive full deferral of their tax liability. Join us as we discuss the mechanics of an exchange, the opportunities it presents to property owners and how exchange education can facilitate the property acquisition process.

Austin Bowlin, CPA
Director, Real Estate Transition Solutions
Austin is an expert on both tradition tax-deferred 1031 exchanges and 1033 exchanges. His firm, Real Estate Transition Solutions, facilitates exchanges for investment property owners throughout the Western United States. Austin focuses on educating investment property owners and service providers on how exchanges operate and can be used to benefit those impacted by eminent domain. Real Estate Transition Solutions also presents and educates owners on the breadth of available exchange replacement property options - pairing owners with replacement property that best positions them to realize both their financial and lifestyle objectives. Previous to his time at Real Estate Transition Solutions, Austin spent four years working for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), an international public accounting firm.
